Case study: UX / UI design + WordPress site development

Site redesign and development on WordPress platform for the Amilcare Ponchielli Theater in Cremona

A new design aimed to enhance the event calendar plus a custom management system based on WordPress

With the aim of improving its image on the web and the maintainability of its website, the prestigious Amilcare Ponchielli Theater in Cremona chose Black Studio for the scope. A complete redesign and refactoring aimed to make the consultation of the event calendar easy and modern.

For this purpose, Black Studio designed and implemented a filtering system that allows users to select the type of show and period of interest.

All information displayed on the site, including event cards, is managed by the theater’s communications department, which can now quickly and easily enter shows, reviews, and seasons, thanks to a brand new customized backend.

Visual identity study

After having conducted a content analysis and having identified the areas that needed improvements, Black Studio designed the new website. The site layout is responsive and the UI/UX is designed following the “mobile first” design paradigm.

During the user interface design phase, Black Studio designers came up with new elements that now build a solid and consistent visual identity: colors, fonts, icons, and style.
